Selection Spain Basketball Pau Gasol will come to the FIBA Windows in September

It’s a unique summer for Pau Gasol before facing what will be his 18th season in the NBA. There is not a great championship for the Spanish team whose calendar has been fixed in the famous FIBA windows. The Spurs’ power forward will not appear in June for the games against Doncic’s Slovenia (June 28, Ljubjlana) and against Belarus (July 1, Malaga), but he does plan to return for the match of the 17 th September, in Madrid, against an opponent to be confirmed because it depends on the pairings of the second round.

Pau is about to conclude the period that devotes his vacation to the total disconnection of basketball. He has taken the opportunity to visit different corners of Spain and Europe with his partner in a ludic-gastronomic journey. Now, with the work agenda organized for the summer, it will be launched under the supervision of Joaquín Juan, his personal trainer. The plan is the one of a lifetime. Start at a slower pace, go little by little in July and intensify the preparation in August to reach a good point of form in September that will allow you to arrive with a heavy workload to the NBA preseason. It’s what has always worked for him.

In that sense, the concentration that Sergio Scariolo will mount a few days before to prepare the match of the Wizink Center and the match itself fits perfectly into the summer design made by the Catalan and his team of collaborators. Pau has always been willing to play in the national team as long as health permits. He wants to get involved as always in the experiences of his favorite team, this time in the qualification for the 2019 World Cup. Madrid, except for an unexpected turn of events, will be able to enjoy the legend of the national team again.
