Lonzo Ball returns to the floor after six weeks of absence; find new Lakers

It’s been almost six weeks since Lonzo Ball participated in a basketball game.
While he has been incapacitated by an injury to his left tibial collateral ligament, the No. 2 pick in the 2017 draft saw Julius Randle play his most consistent basketball, Brandon Ingram shine in seven commitments at the base position, one Kyle Kuzma that has exploded occasionally, Josh Hart adding double-doubles as a starter and a young core within the Los Angeles Lakers growing and enjoying their lives together.
“The boys have learned to play without me,” Ball said recently. “… They know what things work well: rhythm and defense”.

While the Lakers discovered their style, Jordan Clarkson and Larry Nance Jr. were traded to Cleveland in a move that freed room within the salary cap, bringing in Isaiah Thomas, Channing Frye and a protected first-round draft pick. Although this negotiation was an important triumph for Magic Johnson and Rob Pelinka, who left him available to the Lakers up to $ 70 million in order to invest in two free elite agents this summer or next; for the Lakers, it represented a blow to his chemistry in full emergence, as well as to his level of play.
Many of the young members of the Lakers had never been in the midst of a pact in the deadline of changes that has represented not only the loss of two of the key components of the slight success they have experienced this season, but two personalities of great pleasure within the wardrobe.
This move represents that Ball must return to a Lakers team that has lost three straight games and plays what has been their worst defense this season, tolerating an average of 129.3 points since the change. The Lakers return to the practice court on Wednesday night, and Ball hopes to be back in the Lakers’ first game after the All-Star break this Friday against Dallas (10:30 pm, ESPN). . The Lakers (23-34) hope that their quoted novice base can change the team’s fortunes once again.
