LeBron James, Stephen Curry, selected as All-Star captains

Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James and Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry led the All-Star voting at their respective conferences and will be the captains of the All-Star Game.
Giannis Antetokounmpo of Milwaukee, Joel Embiid of Philadelphia, Kyrie Irving of Boston and DeMar DeRozan of Toronto join James as holders of the Eastern Conference.
James Harden of Houston, Kevin Durant of Golden State and his New Orleans colleagues Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins join Curry as holders of the Western Conference.
The starters were determined by a vote of fans, players and a select group of media. They were announced by the NBA on Thursday.
In a new format this season, James and Curry will choose their teams, regardless of the affiliation to the conference, the group of holders and reserves. The NBA coaches will select the reserves, and the team’s full rosters will be announced on January 25.
The first four selections of James and Curry must come from the group of eight remaining starters. James will select ahead of Curry because he ended up with the highest total total vote.
