Jimmy Butler calls on the Wolves who trespassed him Lakers or Knicks?

Jimmy Butler has taken the step and would have asked for the transfer to the Minnesota Timberwolves, according to announce Shams Charania and Jon Krawczynski in The Athletic. The decision would mean the failure of the franchise to try to retain his player, something that coach Tom Thibodeau considered a priority.
According to the information, Butler would have given the team a short list of between one and three teams for which, if transferred, could sign an extension. You have to remember that Butler will be a free agent in June 2019. Now the Wolves can still get something out of him.
Although it is unknown the names of the teams to which Butler would leave, it is speculated on with the possibility that one is the Lakers, to join the team of LeBron James, and another is the Knicks, where they talk about a macro project that in 2019 wants to bring together players like Kyrie Irving, Kevin Durant and Butler himself. Although the New York team appears as a favorite, the Los Angeles Clippers and the Brooklyn Nets could also be on the list.

The maximum that the Wolves could offer to Butler is five years and 189 million dollars, but if he signs an extension to be transferred he would do it for four years and 140 million. In July, Butler rejected four years and 100 million from Minnesota.
The Wolves have tried to convince him in several ways, one of them, it is believed now, that was the signing of Luol Deng, to reunite him with his old partner. But the disconnection with Andrew Wiggins and Karl-Anthony Towns has been stronger.
